Steps Toward a Successful Classroom Blog

This article provides useful information about successfully using blogs for student learning.
MacBride, Robyn, May 2008, "Capitalizing on Emerging Technologies," School Science and Mathematics.

This article discusses a study done with one high school math teacher's use of blogging in the classroom.  The study highlights the positive effects of blogs for students and teachers.  Three classes, 10th and 11th grade Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus, were a part of this year long case study.  The article is useful as it discusses how the blogs were used, different resources accessed through blogging, and how students were required to participate.  Most importantly, the article underscores all the positive benefits of blogs in education.  Blogging creates interactions outside of the school walls, makes students reflect on work, aides in student teaching other students, and takes advantage of students' cultural literacy.
